Exhibition in the teachers' residence

red – yellow – blue. bauhaus for children

The interactive exhibition for children from 6 to12 years, which was created in cooperation with the Lyonel Feininger Gallery in Quedlinburg in 2019 in the play and learning design, goes on the road. It can be visited until June 30, 2023 in the premises of the association in the teacher's house at Hannes-Mayer-Campus 9 in Bernau-Waldfrieden.

The motto of the exhibition is: The Bauhaus was a school! In individual stations you can experiment and try out. Masters of the Bauhaus are the inspiration for the content of the individual exhibits. For example, visitors can experience light, color and shadow in a station by Moholy-Nagy, draw large like Johannes Itten, weave like Gunta Stölzl, bend metal rods like Marcel Breuer and Mart Stam and trace the shape of a tubular steel chair with a "hot wire".

In Walter Gropius' office, the Dessau Master Houses are built to scale, and in the print shop, a stencil font is creatively used a lá Joost Schmidt.

A life-size collage of images from the period, complemented by illustrative elements, greets visitors as they enter the
exhibition. At a red telephone, the Bauhaus masters tell more about themselves and the exhibits in the exhibition in fictional stories.

Exciting books on the subject are also available there.

The exhibits and the exhibition were conceived, designed and implemented in a project in play and learning design at the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle in cooperation with the museum education department of the Lyonel Feininger Gallery in Quedlinburg.

The exhibition was developed by Anna Böhnke, Angelica Dittwald, Caroline Donner, Laura Fischinger, Laura Klingele, Simon Kurze, Tanja Schuschel, Felix Michael Lies, Meiying Lu, Svenja Münster, Hannah Neuß, Jari Schröder, Richard von Fircks and Elisabeth Wolf.

The students were supervised by KM Stefanie Kretschmer and Prof. Karin Schmidt-Ruhland.

The exhibition was supported by the Lyonel Feininger Gallery, the workshops, the rectorate and the public relations department of the BURG, sponsored by the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the Ostdeutsche Sparkassenstiftung, Lotto/Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt, the Förderverein der Lyonel-Feininger-Galerie e.V. and the Rotary Club Quedlinburg.
