The Bauhaus Monument Bernau and Its Residents

The UNESCO World Heritage Site Bauhaus Monument Bernau is managed by several partners who attend to its various affairs.

 

Promoter and Scientific Research: baudenkmal bundesschule bernau e. V.

Since its founding on May 4, 1990, the association baudenkmal bundesschule bernau e. V. has been engaged in the preservation of and academic research into the current UNESCO World Heritage Site and its adjacent buildings.

 

Financial Support: Baudenkmal Bundesschule Bernau Foundation

The Baudenkmal Bundesschule Bernau Foundation was founded in 2011 through the efforts of the city of Bernau bei Berlin, the County of Barnim, Sparkasse Bank Barnim, the Berlin Chamber of Crafts, and the association baudenkmal bundesschule bernau e. V. Its mission is to promote the collection, research, and presentation of all aspects of the Bauhaus Monument Bernau.

 

Administrator of Outdoor Facilities: City of Bernau bei Berlin

The outdoor facilities surrounding the Meyer-Wittwer-Bau were restored according to historical preservation guidelines using funds from the city of Bernau bei Berlin and the federal government. In 2021, the city of Bernau will complete the construction of a visitor center on the site.
